A simple baby bonnet that knits up in a couple of hours and allows for considerable flexibility in infant head circumference. Not only is the band stretchy, but it includes a slit which is fastened with a ribbon, thus allowing additional adjustments.
While the hat does not require additional embellishments, the use of bulky yarn and large needles make it easy to integrate rosebud garland ribbon along the edge where the garter stitch brim meets the stockinette portion of the hat.
Modification for Lighter Weight Yarn: Bulky yarn, such as Cascade 128 (55-60 g), can be substituted by knitting double stranded on the stockinette portions of the hat.
