Download on Ravelry: “Huso Chute”
This chute is both decorative and practical—perfect for a little extra warmth around the neck, it can be pulled up over your face for additional warmth in biting winds. Stranded colorwork provides structure and warmth in addition to eye-catching design.
“Huso” is the family farm from which my great grandmother Guri immigrated to the United States from Hallingdal, Norway. While the charts for this pattern are not unique or typical to the area, bold colorful designs are the hallmark of fabrics, woven and knit, from historical Hallingdal. Two sizes: larger size is in brackets [ ]. Difficulty level: Advanced use to color work, but could be a bigger project for stranded knitting due to the short floats and limit of two colors at a time.
