Purchase and Download:Â Nestled with Color on Ravelry
A part of the Nestled Series, which also includes “Simply Nestled” (a simplified version of this design, suitable for beginners and available for DK and Superbulky/Bulky weights) and “Nestled Fingerless Mitts (DK)“ and “Nestled Fingerless Mitts (Bulky/Super Bulky)”, this design was commissioned to celebrate the 2nd Anniversary of Prairie Yarn Over, a chapter of TKGA located in eastern Iowa.
This knitwear is designed for maximum flexibility: it may be worn as
♥ a wrap across the shoulders, fastening it by passing one end through the knit tab located in the center front;
♥ a shawl by locating the knit tab near your shoulder and crisscrossing the two ends over your shoulder as one passes through the tab;
♥ a scarf by double-wrapping it around your neck and slipping one end through the loop in front.
The “Nestled With Color” wrap is designed for the advanced knitter, or one who wants to expand expertise. The pattern includes many tips as well as possible modifications, for example, reversing MC/CC colors on side panels. However, while it points to resources for assistance with various techniques and includes numerous tips and guidelines, it does not provide detailed instruction for introducing brioche two-color rib or stranded double knitting to a knitter who has never done them before. Pattern also assumes knowledge of backward loop cast-on, Elizabeth Zimmerman’s sewn bind-off, and various basic knitting stitches.
