Named for the Molden mountain in the region of Sogn og Fjordane in Norway, this simple design is easy enough for the novice (uses a simplified version of short rows that even a beginner can master) yet interesting enough for the experienced knitter. The dance of color and texture will make selecting yarn for the project almost as pleasurable as knitting and wearing it; it is easy to memorize (no row stitch counts to obsess about!) and easy to modify.

The basic shape (see photo) and size provides flexibility for use as a smaller-sized shoulder wrap or a neck scarf, and is easily adaptable for different weights and amounts of yarn.
